The third largest city of India is divided into Old & New Delhi. Old Delhi was an amalgamation of seven cities, the seventh being the Mughal city - Shahjahnabad. The major tourist attractions of the city are Qutub Minar, which was built in 1199 and once the tallest structure of the city, it rises to a height of 72.5 metres from a base of 14.32 metres; Humayun's Tomb dating back to 1564, the mausoleum of Mughal emperor Humayun is one fine example of a garden Tomb, the magnificent Red Fort that holds its head high since it was build in 17th century and Jama Mosque, which is believed to be the largest mosque in India. The other notable spots are India Gate, President House, Government Buildings and Birla Temple.

Agra - The beloved city of Mughal rulers, it had to contend itself with secondary position for several centuries. Taj Mahal added new glories to the city with its exquisite beauty and timeless sentiment attached to its origin. The death of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal in 1631 moved the Mughal Emperor Shahjehan so much that he decided to pay her a tribute in the form of a mausoleum of matchless beauty. 20000 labourers, the best talent and a long time of 22 years went into the construction of Taj Mahal. Almost 75 metres in height, Taj Mahal is made up of pure white marble which lends it an ethereal beauty and a change of color at sunrise and sunset on full moon and moonless nights. Made up of red sandstone, Agra Fort was built by Emperor Akbar and is almost 3 kms long. The Diwani-I-Am, Diwani-I-Khas, Moti Masjid inside the fort premises are worth-visiting. The lesser known, Itmad-ud-daulah, which was completed in 1628, is the tomb of Mirza Ghiyag Beg, who was the father-in-law of Jehangir. However, he earned this fine example of Mughal architecture only after proving his worth at the Mughal Court and thus being honored with the title of 'Itmad-ud-daulah' or 'Pillar of the State'.

Fatehpur Sikri - The birth story of this beautiful city is fascinating. There, in a cavern in Sikri, lived a Muslim Saint, Sheikh Salim Chisti by name. Akbar hearing of his popularity, asked him to be blessed with a son, and when a son was born, not only was the child named Salim; the site for a mighty and ambitious project - a city - was chosen near the residence of the saint, and was erected in 1569. The shortage of water led to the desertion of the city. The imposing building of the mosque of Salim Chisti and Panch Mahal are worth a visit. On arrival check-in at hotel & overnight.
